Dig Dig Danger!
YOU CAN EXPERIENCE LAGS IN THE TUTORIAL, BUT YOU CAN PLAY NORMALLY AFTER IT.
How to Play / Clarifications
-
Digging: Use the shovel back and forth on the ground to dig a hole.
-
Ordering Tools: After ordering tools at the booth, wait for the airplane to drop a box onto the island.
-
Bank Machine: The text on the Bank Machine shows the value of the sold item, not your total money (your total is shown in the top-right corner).
-
Taking Items with You: To bring items with you, place them in your boat.
-
Inspectors: Inspectors have an error margin, meaning the chance of finding each type of loot can be slightly higher or lower depending on the inspector.
Bags: If you hold the bag, press F to drop item.
This game is made for my first ever game jam, Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2 and also the very first game I’ve ever released.
Right from the start I’ll say—don’t expect anything big, or actually, it’s better not to expect anything at all. Most of the time it was a battle between me and Blender. I’m absolutely not satisfied with this project. I’ve learned a lot from it and made plenty of mistakes along the way while trying to finish this game. There are a lot of bugs.
The game itself is about digging holes and taking risks—deciding whether to keep digging deeper or move on and try another hole.
I’m a high school student and I’ve only been learning Godot for about half a year. The tutorial and some of the models were rushed, because I lost the initial motivation I had at the beginning of development.
I’d really appreciate it if you leave a comment and let me know what I could have done better and how many bugs did you manage you find :D
Have fun <3

good job your first game jam! i like th premise and the island setting!
unfortunately, I didn't get how to dig. maybe you could clarify in the description :)
still, very good practice to put a tutorial up front! you could make sure that people understood how digging works before moving on by requiring them to actually put the object in the boat.
good luck on your game dev journey :)
Thank you so much for your kind words <3
You're absolutely right. It's a good idea to cover some things in case players get stuck.
I'll add a quick tutorial to the description.
Thanks again, I really appreciate it!
